Vita Merlini, or The Life of Merlin, is a work by the Norman-Welsh author Geoffrey of Monmouth, composed in Latin around AD It retells incidents from the life of the Brythonic seer Merlin, and is based on traditional material about him/5(8). The Life of Merlin is a shorter text by Geoffrey of Monmouth, compared to The History of the Kings of Britain, and focused this time around the figure of Merlin, although the story of Arthur is alluded to in brief/5.

In Entangled Life, the brilliant young biologist Merlin Sheldrake shows us the world from a fungal point of view, providing an exhilarating change of perspective. Sheldrake’s vivid exploration takes us from yeast to psychedelics, to the fungi that range for miles underground and are the largest organisms on the planet, to those that link.

Merlin is the first fantasy book I've read in a long time that reflects historical and cultural understanding comparable to that of Tolkein and Lewis.

I've read medieval Arthurian legends extensively, and my thought during the first part of the book was, "Wow."/5(). The latter book's depiction of Merlin may be the most historically accurate of all since he lives after Arthur's death. The hero Beowulf even appears as an invader.

In Merlin (), a novel by Michel Rio, Merlin presented as a strategist and a wise man rather than a wizard, an adviser to the king and, later, Morgana's teacher. A hundred years. THE LIFE OF MERLIN. I am preparing to sing the madness of the prophetic bard, and a humorous poem on Merlin; pray correct the song, Robert 1, glory of bishops, by restraining my pen.

For we know that Philosophy has poured over you its divine nectar, and has made you famous in all things, that you might serve as an example, a leader and a teacher in the world.

“True to his name, Merlin takes us on a magical journey deep into the roots of Nature — the mycelial universe that exists under every footstep we take in life.

Merlin is an expert storyteller, weaving the tale of our co-evolution with fungi into a scientific adventure. Entangled Life is a must read.” — Paul Stamets, author of Mycelium. The last speech in the book ends on a note that is both challenging and upbeat: “We are the change and change is coming.” The edition published in Britain earlier this year contained 11 speeches; this updated edition all worth reading.

In this captivating adventure, Merlin Sheldrake explores the spectacular and neglected world of fungi: endlessly surprising organisms that sustain nearly all living systems.5/5(1). 13 hours ago  Merlin Sheldrake’s new book Entangled Life looks at the complex world of fungi, its adaptive ability, and its interconnectedness with all other forms of life. He spoke with Robert Macfarlane, author of Underland, about his relationship to fungi and its strategic lessons on growth in the face of climate crisis.

Robert Macfarlane: I want to plunge straight in and ask. The Merlin Saga tells the complete story of Merlin’s life and times spanning 12 exciting novels. When she was caught and brought to Camelot, Merlin privily got her released. In spite of the fact that she usually turn into a wild ugly beast, Merlin still showed her : Cyprian Henry.
